Cataclysm Mining and Iron Spider Silk to Really Help Make Gold in WOW
Here are a couple of useful tips on using the new Cataclysm zones and changes to loot tables to make gold in WOW.
Cataclysm Mining
Obsidium is an AMAZING seller on the auction house because players need a lot of it to begin leveling their tradeskills from 450. So Obsidium will be much in demand and you’ll be able to make some serious WOW gold farming it!
There are only three zones you can even farm for Obsidium. Mount Hyjal and Vashj’ir are two zones where you will be able to farm for Obsidium exclusively. So if you see a DOT on your minimap it’s bound to be Obsidium!
Mount Hyjal is easy to get to for mining to make money in WOW but for Vashj’ir you MUST complete the beginning quest chains to obtain the Abyssal Seahorse Mount. You absolutely CANNOT farm in Vashj’ir without this because the zone is huge.
Not only do you need the water breathing buff but also the speed buff is a must.
Once you’ve got the Seahorse mount, you can start mining Obsidium at Vashj’ir. Now, the great thing about this is, most WOW gold farmers will be mining at Mount Hyjal (because it’s so easy and most of them won’t want to do the Seahorse mount quest). So this means Vashj’ir will have a load more Obsidium, because less people are mining. This should help you make a lot more gold in WOW!
Iron Spider Silk
Cataclysm has serious changed many loot tables, one of which is Ironweb Spider Silk. As far as I know, there are no mobs outside of dungeons dropping it. Now this obviously will make farming it harder but this will also mean it will be worth so much more World of Warcraft gold!
The only place that it can be farmed is in Lower Blackrock Spire from the Spire Spiderlings in Mother Smolderweb’s room.
If this doesn’t change, then Ironweb Spider Silk will help you make a TON of WOW gold! If you are high enough level to farm LBRS, then I definitely recommend it.
At level 85 it’s pretty easy. The Spiderlings also drop Thick Spider’s Web and Shadow Silk as a nice bonus.
